It has been confirmed that the bizarre but impossible to ignore Lady Gaga has finished recording the vocals for her new album, which would be expected to go on sale in January next year.

The singer revealed in an interview for Rolling Stone who has been working for months on the album and feels quite sure that it is finished. He also said that while some artists take years to release an album, she has been working months in the project and writes music every day.

The album title is being kept under strict secrecy at the moment and said the singer will be revealed at midnight on New Year’s Eve to give the world a surprise to begin with 2011.

This album will face tough comparisons with The Fame, which was launched in August 2008 before being re-released in November 2009 under the title The Monster Fame and eight new songs. Both albums achieved excellent sales worldwide and generated a string of hits that the singer is still exploding in his tours around the world.

This disc will be a litmus test for the singer who must prove he is more than a fad and that it can establish itself as a prominent artist in the long term.
